Caring For Your Furniture

See below for tips on how to get the most out of your furniture for years to come.

Upholstered Furniture

Regularly Vacuum

Regularly Vacuum

Regularly vacuum fabrics to remove dust, dirt and pet hair. To clean leather, wipe with a cloth dampened with distilled water and allow to air dry. This regular maintenance will keep your furniture looking its best.

Maintain Cushions

Maintain Cushions

Fluff back, seat and accent pillows weekly to help them retain their shape. The zippered poly core may be fluffed in a dryer on a no heat setting.

Pilling of Fabrics

Pilling of Fabrics

Pilling of fabrics may occur depending on the content and nap of the upholstered material. This is normal as, with use, extra fibers move to the fabric surface. La-Z-Boy exclusively uses fabrics that have been tested for minimal pilling. However, if pilling occurs, it may be easily removed with a small fabric shaver.

Comfort Wrinkles

Comfort Wrinkles

Comfort wrinkles, or gathers, are often designed into cushions to allow them to respond with use. Gathers are sewn in certain areas to compliment each style and provide the necessary give to keep seams from pulling.

Fabric Characteristics

Fabric Characteristics

The weight, fiber content and nap of the fabric may change the appearance of upholstered pieces. Since each piece is made individually, variations may occur in pleats, tucks, skirts and seams.

Leather Variations

Leather Variations

Leather variations in color, grain and markings occur in unaltered or "authentic" leathers. These characteristics, including wrinkles and scars, are viewed as hallmarks of leather's natural beauty and add distinction to each piece.

Tables & Entertainment Units

Wood Variations

Our furniture is crafted with authentic, quality wood which comes with variations in color and grain patterns, as well as knots and other natural markings which make each piece unique. The appearance of stains and finishes can vary from piece to piece depending on the porosity of the wood. Distressed surfaces have small gouges, indentations or surface cracks to add textural character.

Marble & Stone Variations

Marble and stone variations form naturally in these materials. Color, shape and pattern variations make each piece one of a kind.

Metal Variations

Variations in metals, including steel, antique brass and cast iron, are the result of handcrafted manufacturing. Texture surfaces, weld beads and multiple finishing techniques further enhance the authentic look of each piece.

Adjustable Doors & Feet

Adjustable doors and feet on tables and entertainment centers provide easy alignment for variations in flooring materials. Adjustments to alignment may also be needed with temperature and humidity changes which can cause wood to expand or contract.
